We are the 14th South Carolina Volunteer Infantry. Our main goal is to promote and preserve the history of the American Civil War. We are a family oriented group with many military and civilian members. We are Michigan based.

The 14th South Carolina is looking for volunteers interested in civil war re-enacting. Our goal is to recreate an authentic Civil War environment that incorporates both the military and civilian views of the conflict. Our members are experienced reenactors, with some having over 20 years of reenacting experience. The 14th SC actively participate in battle reenactments, living histories, and various preservation efforts. Our goal is to educate the public and ourselves in the accurate history of the war.

The 14th SC is a non-profit, tax exempt organization that has donated time and money throughout the years and has helped save and preserve many endangered battlefields and artifacts. Our members have participated in many large scale reenactments from the 125th anniversary series through the current 145th series. We have attended the largest reenactment in history at the 135th Gettysburg in 1998. Our members have also participated the motion pictures "Glory", "Gettysburg", and "Gods and Generals".

This organization has a lot to offer someone that wants to be a reenactor. We currently portray the Confederate side by representing the 14th South Carolina. There is a strong civilian section that allows any impression to be portrayed including doctors, nurses, politicians, refugees, camp workers, women’s suffrage, and many other opportunities. It is up to you on what your focus will be. If you live in Michigan and you are interested in becoming a Confederate reenactor, we are the organization for you.
